ECO-TOURISM DESTINATIONS IN INDIA

Nature, the physical world involving plants, animals and landscape or more precisely the habitat or eco system of those plants and animals, always remained a mystery to human i.e ECO-TOURISM DESTINATIONS IN INDIA. The breath-taking beauty of nature always attracted human beings and this lead to the form of ecotourism. In the world a potential part of the nature is needed to be conserved because of its vulnerability. And many of such places or sites are being protected by governments.

Ecotourism encompasses travel to terminuses where flora, fauna and cultural heritage are the principal fascinations. National parks, biosphere reserves etc. are some of the examples. Ecotourism is nothing but an expedition through these natural areas that conserve the environment where in which it sustains the wee being of the local people. A visit to watch bird sanctuaries, national parks, hiking, rock climbing etc. comes under the category of ecotourism.

India is a potential country to possess its richness in eco-friendly areas like this. There are a number of sites and spots which suits ecotourism in India. From north to south and east to west India is full of nature’s gifts and which are now being conserved by human. Starting from Kerala, almost states in India possess ecotourism spots. The north east part of the country is a treasure of such sites.

The first ecotourism in India is considered to be from Kerala, it is the Thenmala Ecotourism in Kollam district of Kerala. It is selected as the premier eco-friendly project by the World Tourism Organisation. Thenmala visit must include the Nakshathravanam, which is a nursery of trees sacred to the 27 constellations.

Bandipur National Park in Karnataka is one among the oldest parks in this wildlife sanctuary region. One among the biggest wildlife reserve. This is a part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and this area is highly protected by Indian government. The green lodges available here, supports the sustainability of the environment. Energy reduction, water conservation etc. helps in preserving natural habitats.

 Sunderbans National Park in west Bengal remains one of the most alluring natural reserves in the whole world itself. Ecotourism prospects can be achieved in this striking destination. The mangrove forest id unique for Bengal tigers. Sajnekhali and Bhagabatpore are two centres here and there is an eco-museum at Sundarikati.

Chilika in Odisha, the largest salt water lake in india and also largest wintering region for migratory birds. A number of threatened species are preserved here.

Kaziranga National Park, dwindling zone of Assam rich in flora and fauna. Tropical moist forest, grasslands, marshland etc. provides an ideal atmosphere for all most all kind of species there. One horn rhino can be one of the major attraction here.

Ranthambore National Park in the state of Rajasthan is an example of project Tiger efforts in India. It gives delight treat for tourists and photographers. Here because of the efforts of conservation workers and government schemes incentives one could enjoy and explore ecotourism at its peak.

In India we can adore many places which suits ecotourism and it  is a thriving industry due to the reason that the country is managed to protect its natural beauty. Ecotourism helps in protecting natural habitat in the sense that it allows countries to build their economy without harming the environment and visitors can enjoy untouched destinations.
